The Restaurant

The osteria Pepò is located in Via Rosina, 4/6r – Florence Italy just a few steps from the Mercato Centrale di San Lorenzo. The street and the parking lot are open 365 days a year.

It is easily reached; the Central Market Parking is only a stones throw away and is always open.

Pepò is like a pleasant and warm Bistro filled with aromas, colors and Tuscan wood.
The carefully placed wine cases through out the restaurant provide a warm and charming décor.  Characteristic is also the different atmosphere created day and evening dining.

Rustic and minimal during the lunch hours, natural wood tables decorated with placemats, and the possibility to enjoy a single dish staring at € 6.00.

More romantic, trendy and refined the dinner atmosphere, with tablecloth and candles placed in unexpected gastronomic elements to offer a different dining experience.

The service is informal but welcoming and familiar. Finally a place worthy of being defined as “home cooking” where one stays seated with pleasure, being also involved by the undertone of the music.  And one gets u with the delicate feeling of fullness, just like at home.

For starter we offer a delicious and much thought after marinated Herring ala Pepò, or our Rich Plate for a more robust appetite or for two persons.  Or try our delicious Tuscan appetizers of cold cuts and cheeses.

Followed by our traditional soups like Cream of Pumpkin, the Ribollita generously sprinkled with fresh round pepper and a drop of extra virgin olive oil at the table. Try out gluttonous oven baked Lasagna, or the Pappardelle with wild bore sauce.

For those that can not refuse seconds, how about a plate of our market tribe, or our home made mixed boiled meats with green sauce and mayo. Also much thought after is the Peposo cooked in our furnace, an antique receipt. One can not forget the famous Fiorentina steak.

A much selected wine list is offered to accompany the menu selection, among them the typical Tuscan house wine from one of the most famous vinery in Florence.
